Changing the Oil on My Scooter

I finally reached past the break-in period (or run-in period) on my scooter and I'm over the 300 mile mark. So it time to change the oil on my scooter. Yes, it's oil changing time. Long awaited, I know. So for all you newbies just itching to learn how its done. Well, here you go.


I recommend that when you change your engine oil, that you also change the gear oil (also known as transmission oil) at the same time. It's just easier to keep track of. Changing the oil is an important part of the scooter maintenance or the scooter mechanic progress and with out this, your scooter or moped have serious issue for you in the near future. The last thing you would want is to over heat your engine and find yourself stuck on the side of the road. You should do your first oil change around the 300-500 mile mark. Then every 500-1000 miles after that.
