5 Steps for Driving Scooters in Icy Weather

5 Steps for Driving Scooters in Icy Weather So you may live in place where temperatures get so cold that snow sometimes turn into ice. Cold and stormy weather poses a danger to pretty much any driver, but especially to riders on 2 wheels. There are several things to consider when riding a scooter in the cold and or worse icy weather. 1. Always signal and brake earlier – By doing this you will ensure that other drivers around you have plenty of time to distance themselves if you're stopping or turning. 2. Prepare you body for the wind – A helpful tip is to lean into the wind a bit if there's a gust of wind sudden . Keep your scooter on the side of the lane where the wind is coming from in case the wind pushes you to the other side. 3. Don't ride for 30 to 45 minutes after rain – If it hasn't rained in a few days, the roads are particularly dangerous the first half hour after a raining. If you're already on the road, it would be better to pull over all together. 4. Avoid riding at night – Freezing unpleasantly weather will most likely brings poor visibility, which is even worse at night. Don't ride after dark unless you absolutely necessary. 5. Black ice – If you see it while on your scooter, then park it. Black ice results from when the weather gets warm enough for the snow to start melting, but then suddenly freezes over again. The cause for a extremely slippery situation. Super unsafe to be on the road at a time like that to. There you're only 2 options is to either park it or find another route.
