Preparing for Long Distance driving on Scooters

Preparing for a Long Trip on Scooter First things first, if you're in a hurry then don't take a scooter. Scooters don’t go very fast. the manufacturer might claim 65+, but they’re prob’ly about 5-10 mph slower. Especaislly on hills and slopes. 1. Plan your routes ahead of time. it’s great to take a trip when you don’t need to go anywhere in particular, or need to be done at a certain time. Google Maps is a great resource for planning your route. you can choose a start and end point, then tell it to keep you off the freeways. 2. Plan for gas stops - You have less range than a car, so it is more important to watch for sections of your trip with huge distances between gas stops. 3. Break trip up into reasonable periods/Prepare yourself - driving hundreds of miles in one day. Not oly gets boring but very physically draining and unpleasant. 4. Pack light & Right - You don't want to over pack and be uncomfortable or slowed down by the weight. Always keep things balanced. If you're using racks to tie down anything such as your gear. use webbing instead of bungee cords. 5. Prepare your scooter - check for any issues before you take off on a long trip. Make sure the oil has been changed recently. Make sure all the cables and nuts are tight. Make sure it’s running well, because you don’t want to do repairs once you’re on the road.
