Gapping A Spark Plug Gapping A Spark Plug a spark is relatively simple, if you follow a few easy steps. 1. Use a gap gauge tool to check the gap of the spark plug. 2. Locate the correct gap thickness on gauge gap tool based on recommend size for scooter. 3. Run the spark plug between the electrodes top end of spark plug. 4. If necessary, widen the gap by hooking the gauge on the ground electrode and pulling carefully.
